For yet another year running <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fuertehoteles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fuerte Group Hotels<\/a> has been recognised at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifema.es\/fitur_01\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FITUR<\/a> International Fair in Madrid, for its <em>environmental policies<\/em>. If last year the spotlight was taken by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fuertehoteles.com\/en\/hotels\/fuerte-rompido-cartaya\/the-hotel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fuerte El Rompido<\/a> hotel (Huelva), which was given a prize for its <strong>completed hotel sustainability and refurbishment project<\/strong>, this time around the prize went to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fuertehoteles.com\/en\/hotels\/resort-fuerte-conil-costaluz\/the-hotel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fuerte Conil Costa Luz<\/a> (C\u00e1diz), whose <strong>hotel sustainability and refurbishment project to be implemented <\/strong>during <strong>2017<\/strong> was selected as one of the <strong>best 10<\/strong>, from among over <strong>80 applications<\/strong> presented by establishments from all over the country. Fuerte Conil Costa Luz was, coincidentally, the <strong>hotel<\/strong> with which the Andalusian company Fuerte Group Hotels launched its <em>sustainable tourism policy<\/em> in 1999, which has made it one of the <strong>most environmentally friendly<\/strong> <strong>hotel chains in Spain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Participants in the award ceremony for this <strong>III Edition<\/strong> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rethinkhotel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Re Think Prizes <\/a>, held on Wednesday 18 March at <strong>FiturTechY<\/strong>, included the Managing Director of the Habitat Futura Group, Celia Galera; chairman of the Responsible Tourism Institute, Tom\u00e1s Azc\u00e1rate; Chairman of the Spanish National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO, Lu\u00eds Ramallo; Director of the UNWTO Affiliate Members Programme, Yolanda Perdomo, Deputy Director General for the Coordination of Actions Against Climate Change, Eduardo Gonz\u00e1lez, and the Deputy Director General of the Department for Tourism Cooperation and Competitiveness of the Office of the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fuencisla Tejedor, as well as large contingent of political representatives of Spanish regional authorities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>About the Re Think Prizes<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n<p>The Re Think Hotel Competition, held for the 3rd time this year, aimed to recognise and promote the \u201cTOP 10\u201d best hotel sustainability and refurbishment projects in Spain in 2016. Its panel comprises well known tourism and construction industry professionals, and their assessment criteria were based on the United Nations\u2019 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
