The opening of <strong>Hotel Fuerte Conil,<\/strong> which at the time had <strong>250 rooms<\/strong> (<strong>469<\/strong> today, following its expansion in 2004), <strong>revived<\/strong> the then struggling <strong>economy<\/strong> of the little <strong>village<\/strong> and helped to create one of the most well-established and well-known <strong>tourist destinations,<\/strong> both in Spain and internationally, on the <strong>coast of Cadiz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Next Friday, the <strong>15<sup>th<\/sup> of February<\/strong> it will reopen its doors in order to tackle the <strong>new 2019 season<\/strong>, marked by various <strong>events<\/strong> to <strong>celebrate<\/strong> this <strong>milestone<\/strong> with guests, representatives of the <strong>sector<\/strong> and, especially, the <strong>neighbours in the area<\/strong>, many of whom have been directly or indirectly linked to the hotel since <strong>its very beginning<\/strong>. According to some of the <strong>employees<\/strong> that joined the hotel&#8217;s staff at the <strong>time<\/strong>, the <strong>arrival<\/strong> of the <strong>Fuerte Group Hotels<\/strong> in town was seen as a real <strong>revolution<\/strong> of <strong>prosperity<\/strong> and <strong>modernity<\/strong>, and as a <strong>challenge<\/strong>, given that the <strong>selection process<\/strong> was incredibly <strong>demanding<\/strong> and <strong>thorough <\/strong>for the time. Nevertheless, the <strong>professionalism<\/strong> of all of its <strong>staff<\/strong>, and the <strong>kindness<\/strong> typical of <strong>southerners<\/strong>, has succeeded in earning <strong>Fuerte Conil<\/strong> a reputation as one of the <strong>best hotels<\/strong> in <strong>Cadiz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11448\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11448\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11448\" src=\"https:\/\/rsc.fuerte-group.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/fuerte-conil1.jpg\" alt=\"Hotel Fuerte Conil\" width=\"640\" height=\"420\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11448\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hotel Fuerte Conil<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Antonio Basallote, Director of Fuerte Conil, says: \u201c<em>Fuerte Group Hotels is a family company with over 60 years of experience. One that has always shown commitment to the well-being of its employees and to helping the areas where our hotels are located to prosper<\/em>.<em> In the case of Fuerte Conil, we have given priority to hiring local people. 95% of our 126 employees, which in August go up to 227, are from the area. What&#8217;s more, the businesses of local suppliers have benefitted both directly and indirectly from the 1.2 million+ guests that have visited us over the last 6 months, as have all the other complementary businesses that have been created around the hotel over the years. We trust that we will continue to meet expectations this 2019 and achieve hotel occupancy figures similar to those obtained in the last few years, particularly those of 2018, when we reached a record 81.68% occupancy<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Another important aspect is the environment, given that Fuerte Conil \u2013 Costa was the <strong>first hotel<\/strong> in <strong>Spain<\/strong> to be accredited with the <strong>ISO 9001<\/strong> and the <strong>ISO 14001<\/strong> certifications, the latter recognising the <strong>environmental management<\/strong> policies implemented by the establishment.
